23 Palestinians kidnapped by the Israeli Occupation Forces in West Bank raids

Wednesday 21-October-2026

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) kidnapped at least 23 Palestinian citizens, including a young woman, during dawn raids in different West Bank areas on Wednesday.

In Nablus, the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped eight Palestinians, including a young woman, and interrogated others after raiding several neighborhoods of the city, as well as Balata refugee camp to the east and the towns of Bait Dajan, Bait Foureek, and Salim.

In Qalqilya, the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped 11 Palestinians from the village of Immateen, east of the governorate, after breaking into and ransacking several homes at dawn.

In Toulkarm, four citizens were taken prisoner following IOFs raids in the towns of 'Illar and 'Atteel.

1,500 sick Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails facing “slow death”

Tuesday 20-October-2026

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies (PCPS) has warned that more than 1,500 sick Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, including dozens in critical condition, are facing a slow death due to their exposure to systematic medical neglect.

“Medical neglect is not a new practice in Israeli prisons, but a policy dating back to their establishment. The threat of this policy to prisoners’ lives has escalated sharply since October 7, 2023, with detainees entirely denied medical treatment and hospital transfers regardless of how critical their condition is,” PCPS said in a recent report.

“Starvation, malnutrition, and the lack of essential nutrients have weakened prisoners’ immune systems and fueled the spread of disease, particularly scabies. These health issues are acutely aggravated by severe overcrowding, restricted access to hygiene items, and the absence of medical isolation protocols for infected detainees,” PCPS added.

According to the center, medical neglect has been a primary cause of death for at least half of the 329 Palestinian prisoners who have died in Israeli custody since 1967.

“Since October 7, 2023, medical neglect has been the second-leading cause of death after torture, claiming the lives of 92 detainees,” it added.

Samidoun calls for international action to protect Bushra El-Taweel and Palestinian women prisoners

Tuesday 20-October-2026

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network has warned of escalating abuses against Palestinian women held in Israeli prisons, including violent raids, beatings, gas attacks, forced removal of hijabs, solitary confinement and medical neglect.

In a statement issued Monday, the network said Palestinian journalist Bushra El-Taweel has endured nearly 50 days of isolation and deprivation, while approximately 90 Palestinian women prisoners face systematic violations linked to their journalism, human rights activism, student organizing and commitment to their families, land and people’s right to freedom.

The network said al-Tawil, 33, remains detained without charge or trial under administrative detention after Israeli authorities renewed her detention order for another four months last week, despite a deterioration in her physical and psychological health.

Bushra al-Tawil: Isolation, assaults and denial of medical care

According to Samidoun, al-Tawil was rearrested on February 5, 2026, at a military checkpoint near Ramallah. She was subsequently transferred to the Moskobiya interrogation center before being moved to Damon prison and placed under administrative detention.

The network said she had been repeatedly transferred between isolation facilities and subjected to beatings, gas attacks, verbal abuse and constant camera surveillance.

During one transfer, two prison guards allegedly struck her on the head with metal restraints, causing swelling on the right side of her head, before leaving her handcuffed for two hours inside an extremely hot cell.

Al-Tawil is also reportedly suffering from scabies, persistent shoulder pain, dry eyes and skin, and numbness in her hands caused by prolonged restraint.

The statement added that she has been deprived of adequate food, clean water, suitable clothing and basic hygiene supplies.

Samidoun reviewed al-Tawil’s history of repeated arrests since 2011, noting that she was released twice under prisoner exchange agreements, the Wafa al-Ahrar deal in 2011 and the Al-Ahrar Flood exchange in January 2025, before being arrested again.

The network linked her repeated detention to her journalistic work, particularly her coverage of Palestinian prisoners and their families.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Journalists’ Gathering called on international institutions and press unions to intervene to protect al-Tawil, monitor her physical and psychological condition, end her isolation and secure her release. It also urged media organizations to draw greater attention to her case.

Damon prison raids: Gas attacks, beatings and mass isolation

In a related escalation, the Palestinian Asra Media Office documented violent raids on the women’s section of Damon prison.

For its part, the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported that Israeli forces raided the section three times on October 7, using tear gas and stun grenades, leaving several prisoners suffering from breathing difficulties.

According to the statement, prison guards dragged women into the prison yard, restrained them and forced them to lie on the ground while filming and verbally abusing them.

The prisoners were also reportedly forced to undo their hair braids, while 15 women were transferred to isolation cells.

The assaults allegedly continued the following day, with pepper spray used inside cells and shower facilities, causing vomiting and breathing difficulties.

The network said the prison guards also beat women prisoners and forced them to remain on the floor inside rooms filled with gas.

The incidents affected elderly prisoners and a pregnant woman who was transferred to the prison clinic.

Calls for urgent international intervention

Samidoun said the abuses against Palestinian women prisoners form part of a wider system of detention, torture and repression targeting Palestinians.

The network called for an immediate end to the isolation of Bushra al-Tawil and other Palestinian women prisoners, independent medical care, protection from further assaults and the release of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

It also urged the International Committee of the Red Cross and international organizations to intervene over the reported violations.

Samidoun called on Palestinian communities, solidarity organizations, feminist movements, trade unions and student associations to support campaigns advocating for Palestinian women prisoners, including the “Dismantle Damon” campaign.

The network also encouraged public mobilization to pressure Israeli authorities to end torture, solitary confinement and other abuses inside prisons.

Dozens of the illegal Israeli settlers defile Al-Aqsa Mosque

Wednesday 21-October-2026

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

Dozens of the illegal Israeli extremist Jewish settlers escorted by police officers desecratedAl-Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards on Wednesday morning, amid tight restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the holy site.

According to local sources, at least 86 settlers entered the Mosque in different groups through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards in the morning.

During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount, and a number of them provocatively performed Talmudic prayers.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates and prevented many of them from entering the holy site.

Wave of attacks by the illegal Israeli settlers reported across the Palestinian territory of the West Bank

Wednesday 21-October-2026

WEST BANK, (PIC)

During the past 24 hours, the illegal Israeli extremist Jewish settlers launched a new spate of violations and attacks across the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank, targeting Palestinian citizens and property.

In Salfeet, settlers last night assaulted a group of Palestinians in El-Dthuhour area of Dair Istiya town, northwest of the governorate, and briefly detained several of them before later releasing them.

In the northern Jordan Valley, settlers conducted provocative patrols between homes in El-'Hadeediya community, causing panic among families.

In eastern Ramallah, settlers violently attacked the 'Izbat Abu Zuhaiman area on the outskirts of Ramon and stole a number of sheep on Tuesday evening.

In El-Rashayida village, southeast of Bethlehem, settlers stabbed and injured a local young man, while another settler deliberately rammed a vehicle at the village’s main entrance, severely damaging its bodywork.

In Nablus, a horde of settlers attacked Palestinian cars and chased farmers near the northern bridge in the village of Madama.

Violations by the illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank escalate

Tuesday 20-October-2026

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The illegal Israeli settlers continued their attacks on Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday morning, reportedly under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

In Nablus, settlers cut off electricity to the home of lawyer Muntasir 'Hamayil on Mount El-'Arma in the town of Baita, south of the city, for the third consecutive day.

Anti-settlement activist Mohammed Hamayel said the settlers were deliberately cutting power to the house, where Muntasir lives with his six family members, in an attempt to pressure them.

He added that the family faces almost daily attacks and restrictions on its freedom of movement.

According to 'Hamayil, Muntasir’s wife gave birth inside an ambulance about a month ago after settlers blocked the road and prevented her from reaching the hospital.

In the northern Jordan Valley, settler attacks forced 20 families to leave El-Ras El-A'hmar Bedouin community, while the remaining residents have been threatened with displacement by next Friday.

The Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights quoted activist Sa'eed Fayyad as saying that 20 families had been displaced from the community, while 27 others remained amid fears that they, too, could be forced to leave in the coming days.

Fayyad said the remaining families had received threats ordering them to leave by Friday, raising concerns about the community’s future amid mounting pressure and deteriorating living conditions.

According to Al-Baidar, restrictions on bringing water and animal feed into the community have further intensified residents’ suffering, threatening their ability to meet basic needs, particularly among families dependent on livestock farming.

In Ramallah, settlers set fire to the welcome roundabout at the entrance to Burqa village, east of the city, causing extensive damage.

Burqa village council chairman Sayil Kan'an told the Palestinian news agency, WAFA, that settlers set tires ablaze on the roundabout’s stone structure, severely damaging it. Residents managed to extinguish the fire and began efforts to repair the structure.

The attacks come as the olive harvest season gets underway, amid a growing wave of settler assaults against Palestinian farmers in several areas of the occupied West Bank.

Gaza could face fate similar to that of native Americans, Lazzarini warns

Tuesday 20-October-2026

GAZA, (PIC)

Former Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini has warned that the people of the Gaza Strip could face a fate similar to that of Native Americans unless the international community takes action, amid continuing Israeli attacks and the deterioration of basic living conditions in the enclave.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Lazzarini said, “In Gaza, we know it is already too late, and if we do not act, the fate of Gaza’s population could be similar to that of Native Americans.”

He called for urgent and effective international action to protect civilians and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, warning that continued inaction threatens to destroy what remains of the basic necessities of life in Gaza.

Lazzarini described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as one of the worst in modern history, citing widespread destruction, severe shortages of essential supplies, and the harsh living conditions facing residents.

His warning comes as humanitarian organizations are increasingly unable to meet the needs of Palestinians.

The World Food Program (WFP) announced that it was reducing the number of people receiving assistance in Gaza from 1.6 million to 1.1 million this month because of funding shortages, leaving approximately half a million Palestinians without the support they had previously received.

On October 16, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned that recent improvements in efforts to combat malnutrition remained fragile, noting that approximately 800,000 children were still displaced and living in unsafe shelters.

According to available data, one in eight children under the age of five suffers from chronic malnutrition, while only one-third of children under two receive the minimum dietary diversity needed for healthy development.

On the ground, a year since the ceasefire agreement has not brought an end to Palestinian deaths.

At least five Palestinians were killed on Tuesday by Israeli shelling and gunfire, including a married couple whose apartment in Gaza City was targeted and a 17-year-old boy killed near Khan Yunis.

The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since the ceasefire agreement took effect a year ago has exceeded 1,500.

Meanwhile, progress toward reconstruction remains blocked by an Israeli decision, leaving Gaza’s population facing the combined threats of continued bombardment, shrinking humanitarian assistance, and ongoing displacement.

Palestinian Ministry of education calls for protecting Gaza schoolchildren

Tuesday 20-October-2026

GAZA, (PIC)

With the death of five schoolchildren in recent Israeli attacks, the Palestinian ministry of education has issued a stern warning over the unrelenting targeting of students and children in the Gaza Strip.

“The Israeli occupation’s persistence in targeting students in Gaza reflects the scale of the threats facing children and preventing them from enjoying their rights to life, security, and education,” the ministry said in a statement released on Tuesday.

“The deaths of five students in a string of recent incidents cannot be treated as just another statistic in the daily toll of events. Rather, they represent a severe human and educational tragedy, as well as a violation of the rights of children who should be given protection and care and should be able to continue their education without fear of gunfire or bombardment,” the ministry underlined.

The ministry called on the UN, UNICEF, and international organizations to go beyond monitoring and expressing concern and start taking real steps to protect Gaza students and their right to safe learning.

Gaza: 14-year-old schoolchild killed in Israeli strike

Saturday 17-October-2026

GAZA, (PIC)

Shrapnel from an Israeli strike in central Gaza pierced the backpack of 14-year-old student Mu'hammed Riyadh Abu 'Hamad, killing him on his way home from school in Dair El-Bala'h.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education in Gaza reported the incident on Saturday, urging immediate international protection for Palestinian students and children.

The ministry said the incident highlights the grave dangers facing children across the Gaza Strip.

Local sources said the strike targeted a gathering of civilians on al-Baraka Street in Dair El-Bala'h, killing Abu 'Hamad and injuring four others, including a young girl. The wounded were transferred to Shuhada El-Aqsa Hospital for medical assistance.

Red Cross: Gaza is ‘hell on earth’ as patients urgently need medical evacuation

Tuesday 20-October-2026

GAZA, (PIC)

Pierre Krähenbühl, director-general of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has warned that the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip continues amid deteriorating living and health conditions, calling on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities toward the population and ensure the evacuation of patients who require medical treatment outside the enclave.

In an interview with Al Jazeera on the sidelines of the Global Security Forum in Doha, Krähenbühl described the conditions facing Palestinians in Gaza as “hell on earth,” pointing to their suffering in displacement tents amid shortages of medical care and water, as well as continuing fears for their lives and futures.

He also noted that Palestinian families still do not know the fate of missing relatives believed to be buried beneath the rubble, stressing the need for a stronger international response to the growing humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding medical efforts, Krähenbühl explained that the ICRC’s field hospital provides lifesaving services, including maternity care and medical consultations, while the organization is also working to repair facilities that supply water to residents.

Despite these efforts, he emphasized that humanitarian organizations have the capacity to provide only the bare minimum of the assistance required.

He stressed that achieving sustainable improvements in living conditions requires political action that goes beyond humanitarian aid and relief operations.

The ICRC director-general renewed his call to ensure that every patient receives the treatment they need and that those whose medical conditions require evacuation are allowed to leave Gaza to obtain appropriate care.

Krähenbühl attributed the declining availability of medical treatment in Gaza to the destruction of hospitals and the health system’s reduced capacity to provide services, despite the continuing efforts of health care workers, the Palestine Red Crescent Society, and the ICRC.

He also highlighted the suffering of hundreds of children living with long-term injuries and amputations, emphasizing the need for treatment, rehabilitation, and medical care in both the short and long term.

Concluding his warnings, Krähenbühl stressed the serious consequences of funding shortages affecting the humanitarian response.

He urged governments and donors to continue supporting relief operations in the Gaza Strip, where medical and humanitarian needs remain critical and suffering continues to spread among the population.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
